Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, I relocated to Fort Myers at an early age and graduated from Fort Myers High School.
In My childhood there was domestic violence and sexual abuse, my art was an escape from this terror and uncertainty of a tragic home life. However it has made me into the artist/person I am today, something good has come out of something horrific.
I had art classes in school, attended some college art classes and adult night school art courses, however I am mainly self-taught. I dabbled in art for years while raising two daughters. The empty nest in 2007 allowed me more time to pursue my love of art and I now have an in home studio. I work in many mediums such as photography, colored pencil, acrylic, cracked egg shell art (my own invention), masking tape sculptures, mixed media, pen & ink or whatever I am inspired to use.
As a member of the Art League of Fort Myers I built and managed the online presence of their website and Facebook from 2011-2014, held the position of board member in 2011-2012, 2nd Vice President in 2012-2013 and was President from 2013-2014.
My work has been on display for various art shows at: Alliance for the Arts Art League of Fort Myers Arts for Act Cape Coral Art League Artful Missions, to help with the rescuing and restoring victims of human trafficking Art at the Oasis Condominium Penthouse Harbor Side Event Center in Fort Myers for Celebration to benefit Susan G.
